Get Rid of Circles on Civil/Smart Labels

Can we please find a way to get rid of the tiny circles that are placed when using civil/smart labels? Civil 3D does not have these and when you delete the label the entire label disappears. ORD labels will leave the circle or leader if you don't have graphic groups enabled.
